Its beautiful beaches enable the practice of water sports and unforgettable seaside promenades, and its architecture, inherited from Azorean, Portuguese, Italian and German colonizers, unveils a true stroll through history. At the Mercado Público Municipal it is possible to find the most varied types of fish and seafood, always fresh and bought direct from the fisherman. The Parque Natural Municipal do Atalaia, with its trails and rich nature, provides a total view of Itajaí, its beaches and the Port. And during October, the city hosts the largest Portuguese and Fishing Festival in Brazil: the Marejada.
