History & Mission
HISTORY
The history of the Intermunicipal Consortium of Tourism Costa Verde & Mar-CITMAR- had its beginning in March 2005, when the Collegiate Body of Tourism Counselors of the Association of the Towns of the Foz do Rio Itajaí Region - AMFRI - was formed. Looking forward to developing the tourism in a regionalized way, the members of the Collegiate Body, under the coordination of the AMFRI, elaborated a strategic plan of activities to be developed in the following years. In this plan, the elaboration of a marketing plan, tourist signposting, routes and integration of transports were priorities.
The year of 2006 and the
beginning of 2007 were dedicated to the Integrated Tourism Marketing Strategic
Plan, to the creation of a name for the region as well as its logotype.
"Costa Verde & Mar - A Rota do Sol
Catarinense"(The Route of the Sun in Santa Catarina), was chosen as the
brand of the region to be used institutionally and comercially. From that
moment on, there was a need to form a consortium which integrated the town in
terms of tourism.
Therefore, in August 17th, 2007, the Intermunicipal Consortium of Tourism Costa
Verde e Mar - CITMAR - was created, moment when the mayors of Balneário
Camboriú, Balneário Piçarras, Bombinhas, Camboriú, Ilhota, Itají, Itapema, Luís
Alves, Navegantes, Penha and Porto
Belo signed a
protocole of intentions aimed at ordering the use of the resources available
and reenforcing the role of the towns in the development of the regional
tourism.
The consortium has as
objectives paying services specilized in tourism planning, development and
promotion, promoting marketing strategic
actions and implementing actions to improve regional tourist infrastructure.
The CITMAR is constituted as a public law legal person, non-profitable organization, with observancy to article 241 of the 1988 Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil, to the article 13 of the Federal Law number 11.107/2005, to the article 30 of the Federal Decree number 6.017/2007, to the Federal law number 8.666/1993, as well as to the Protocole of Intentions and to the Legislations of the towns involved.
